Schubert System Elektronik GmbH (SSE) and FLECS Technologies GmbH have been working together for a year now. FLECS offers an innovative automation marketplace for the simple installation of applications on machine control systems. This enables machine manufacturers and operators to integrate and use hardware-independent software programs (apps) quickly and easily for any automation task. SSE supports the innovative automation tool from FLECS with two Prime Cube products, the Prime Box Pico, one of the smallest box PCs in the industrial environment, and the built-in panel IPC Prime Panel Pico 15.6". Prime Cube and FLECS not only create an optimal user experience, but also save time and money when setting up and updating machine control systems.
Digitalization is driving change in industrial automation. The main challenges lie in the integration and interoperability of different systems and the creation of easy-to-use standards. Edge devices and simple visualization of data are the answer when equipping new machines as well as in retrofits. Edge computing is the interface for collecting and processing data at field and control level and passing it on to higher systems for analysis. An HMI makes it possible to quickly visualize and grasp the data. A high degree of connectivity in hardware and software is a prerequisite in a heterogeneous system landscape. With Prime Cube and FLECS, edge systems or HMIs can be implemented quickly and easily. The combination of Prime and FLECS creates standard solutions that are easy to adapt and enable companies to benefit from modern automation.
The partnership exemplifies the synergy between innovative hardware and advanced software in the field of industrial automation. With its Prime Cube products, SSE contributes state-of-the-art hardware and an optimized LINUX operating system, while FLECS provides the applications in its Marketplace and ensures software flexibility and scalability with its Service Mesh. This combination enables users to design automation solutions that are efficient, secure and user-friendly, setting new standards in industrial automation.
Both companies intend to further intensify their cooperation. The FLECS Marketplace offering is to be continuously expanded. The aim is to create a central platform for automation solutions that not only simplifies the integration of hardware and software, but also makes a significant contribution to safety, efficiency and sustainability in the industry. Prime OS Flecs is now available on all Prime Cube platforms and in all configuration levels. In the medium term, the LINUX operating system Prime OS will be available via the Marketplace so that it can also be integrated into the software management and deployment of FLECS.
