Out of the box

At the SPS 2019 in Nuremberg, Schubert System Elektronik presents one of the smallest box PCs in an industrial environment.

If only little computing power is required, e.g. to be able to read out, save and distribute machine data, the space available is usually strictly limited.

In this case, the new Prime Box Pico by Prime Cube® integrates perfectly:

  • Size-optimized and in particularly small design, it processes simple data streams quickly and reliably.

  • Thanks to Pico ITX mainboard and ARM or x86-processor, the small box is nevertheless powerful.

  • Despite strictly limited space, many connectivity options can be implemented via WLAN, LTE, CAN or RS232, and the box is very well suitable as an edge server or gateway.

From Small Compact Solution to High Performance IPC

If the compact version is not sufficient, the box can be modularly extended up to a full high-performance IPC for the editing and processing of complex services, e.g. in quality and comprehensive product control or as soft PLC for control tasks.

Equipped with 3.5” or mini ITX board and processors from Intel or AMD and a variety of extension options, the box can be individually configured.

Both box types can be mounted vertically, horizontally and on the top-rail. All connections are aligned towards the front for particularly easy and convenient operation.

The box PCs are part of the modular system that was developed in 2019 on occasion of the 10th anniversary of the product brand Prime Cube®. Customers can assemble the suitable computer system from defined modules for their industrial application. PC-based HMI and web panels for the visualization of industrial applications and the portfolio of box PCs are complemented by IIoT-concepts, software and service features.

Manifold Individualization Options for Different Applications

Selected pre-configured platforms accelerate the development process compared to customized developments, thus ensuring shorter time-to-market. Furthermore, numerous individualization options are available in the configuration steps Base, Style and Custom.

Due to its modularity, the “kit” is interesting for a variety of industrial environments. Apart from the areas of machinery and plant engineering or automation, the solutions with IP69 protection can also be designed for food-processing and food-related environments.

Schubert System Elektronik will present the modular concept of Prime Cube® at the SPS – smart production solutions from 26 to 28 November 2019 in Nuremberg (Hall 7 / Stand 290).

The New TLM Server in Schubert Packaging Machines

The individual components in production or automation systems are usually large systems on which different functions are brought together. The dissolution of such a monolithic system by means of virtualization and containerization makes development more efficient as well as systems more secure and scaleable. The new TLM server that has been developed for Gerhard Schubert GmbH shows the optimum interaction between hardware and software.
