One of the Smallest Box PCs for the Industry Convinces by High Connectivity

If only little computing power is required, e.g. to be able to read out, save and distribute machine data or to realize simple visualization and control tasks, the space available in the control cabinet is usually strictly limited.

Thanks to its very compact design, the Prime Box Pico by Prime Cube® fits in with the smallest gap and at the same time convinces by high connectivity. It is part of the new modular system.

Wireless Connectivity und Edge Computing

for Different Industrial Applications

The Prime Box Pico is usable with Windows 10 IoT Enterprise or Linux operating systems and can be easily equipped with WLAN, LTE or other radio extensions.

Furthermore, with the optional CAN bus extension a robust, fast and simple fieldbus is available that is increasingly used for the solution of small and cost-sensitive applications in machine-building.

Based on the modular software system, the experts from SSE configure individual edge computing concepts on demand. In this way, virtualization tools such as a real-time hypervisor allow to integrate existing remote maintenance solutions and to operate parallel docker-based applications.

Optimized Usability and Robust System Design

The small box PC (44 mm W x 170 mm H x 92 mm D) with stable aluminium housing can be mounted to a 35 mm top-rail resp. by an elbow to the wall or operated on a table. Thanks to front access, the Prime Box Pico is particularly user-friendly.

The robust system architecture of the Prime Box Pico excels by its efficient platform (atom-class), a fanless CPU and system cooling and the EMC-compliant design.

Modularity for Individual Requirements

The modular system of Prime Cube® allows to select defined modules in order to compose computer systems in keeping with the requirements. PC-based HMI and web panels and the portfolio of box PCs are complemented by IIoT-concepts, software and service features.

Pre-configured platforms for different applications accelerate the development process compared to completely customized developments, thus ensuring shorter time-to-market and an optimized price-performance ratio.

The New TLM Server in Schubert Packaging Machines

The individual components in production or automation systems are usually large systems on which different functions are brought together. The dissolution of such a monolithic system by means of virtualization and containerization makes development more efficient as well as systems more secure and scaleable. The new TLM server that has been developed for Gerhard Schubert GmbH shows the optimum interaction between hardware and software.
